Brief CV

I’ve got a PhD in Communications Technologies from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain, in 2003, and a Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad de Valladolid, Spain, in 1999.

I have spent most of my professional life at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, but I have also worked at the University of Southampton as a Research Fellow (2004-2005) and at BBVA as a Senior Machine Learning Expert (2014-2019).

Research Interests

My main research topic is Machine Learning, mostly Kernel Methods (Support Vector Machines, Spectral Clustering…) and their application in health and finances.

Teaching @ UC3M

This course I’m teaching Modern Theory of Detection and Estimation to 3rd year undergrads in Telecommunications Engineering, Machine Learning 2 to 3rd year undergrads in Data Science and Engineering and Machine Learning in the Masters in Big Data Analytics.
